Ah today has been a near pefect day! Yesterday was my last day of work so today a much needed lie in was taken and everything was done at my own pace. Bough rather alot of bath ballistics from Lush online. Ahh...Lush is SO good :). Can't wait to move into new house in Hatfield and make good use of the bath! Hehe.
University has finally put up information and timetables online so I'm now informed about it all. Workload looks intensive but hopefully Rob can prod me into doing my work. He helped alot in my 2nd year. A big part of me keeps repating "FAIL FAIL FAIL" in my head but the key thing to do is just GET ON WITH IT. From past experience I know that once you let it all slip it's very hard to get back on track again.

Speaking of Rob, I went to visit his family's new house today. Given that he didn't give me a very indepth description of the place my mind filled in the blanks and imagined something very small and cramped. As it is his new home isn't much smaller than his old place and alot of things are better about it. No sloping celings, wonderfully laid out kitchen with breakfast bar, wide reception area and good lay out over all. Seen Tilly for the first time in nearly 2 weeks. She was her usual chirpy self, head butting legs and purring.

Generally life has been quite good these past few days. The most important thing is not to let stress get to me. The past two months stress has shown itself in awful ways. Break outs and long overdue/early periods. I can't wait to feel finally comfortable and settled.

All was fine at first as insects usually don't bother me too much, until it starting curling its tail up like a scorpion at it's possible capture. Yeesh!! I'm taking it as a sign it's finally time to leave!

There are only four days of work left to go until I'm back at university. Great :). For some reason, this summer has gone on for what seems like an age. Last year working at E-docs seemed easier, not any less boring but more satisfying. Time went quicker. I think it's because last year I needed to be bored, what with the prozac and a million and one things messing up my head, repetitive mind numbing work was a welcome reprieve. Also it's the only place I've worked so far where there's been a real community spirit and warm people. Depending on workload, hopefully I can work there again at Christmas and Easter. As I'll be living in Hatfield with [info]ribrob from October onwards it'd be good to get some temping work. I still can't believe we managed to get a house. It's exciting but nerve wracking at the same time. Bills, food, essentials, it all adds up and money is tight.

Urm and for now that's about it. Apart from 3 hours today this has been the most boring weekend ever. Never see any of my friends anymore. It's time to move on. x

Today I received the most thoughful and unique present ever. Thankyou ♥. No longer do I feel the need to bend ears with sad childhood memories of browsing at tat in souvenir shops with my brother laughing at me as my name was never emblazoned on anything. He'd pick up every item with his name on and cover all the rest. "Michael is the best name, it's universal". Brat :P.

There had hopefully be a midnight sale somewhere in town tomorrow night for the release of Harry Potter. Pre ordering? Why, that can go to the back of my mind like most other important things do! The things I must do list is ever growing:

1.)Write email to magazine about work.
2.)Email back long lost school friend.
3.)Actually fucking DRAW something.
4.)Go swimming.
5.)Take cheques to bank so that there's actual money in my account.
6.)Actually wear the clothes I buy.
7.)Cut hair.
8.)Get credit for neglected phone.
9.)Change banks.
10.)Tell family BIG IMPORTANT THING.
11.)Wake up earlier than twenty minutes before having to leave for work.
12.)Sort through old items and sell/give away
13.)Go to the doctors about a number of things.
14.)Steal Tilly and claim her as my own.

Motivation is key. You know it is....it really is.

Despite previous plans for this weekend all falling to pieces these past few days have been very fun :). Excluding today. Mondays are never usually a problem for me but the current job work have me fixing is a bit mind bending. To be honest it's not actually very taxing but my mind has gotten used to doing very little these past two months!

Went into Harlow Saturday afternoon. In between going to the pets corner and Rob finally buying a Wii, I managed to do some clothes shopping but more importantly bought some stuff for the flat too. This is the flat that is still non existent seeing as each place that's come up so far requires us to move in next month. That's a bit early for the start of term, especially as we are both still working locally. The good news is that we are getting sent a lot of potential flats and the rent in the majority of cases is very attractive. Afterwards we had a great time at our local with Anna and Cazz.

Ah, lots of people on all sorts of livejournal communities are fretting about coming across inadvertent Harry Potter spoilers by accident or trolls. Feel very lonely as I actually *want* spoilers. It's always been this way. No matter how much love felt towards the book more times than not I skip a little then go back. It's worse when a favourite character's life is rumoured to end, the suspense is just too much!!

As much as people keep raving about the new version of John Water's Hairspray I'm really not too sure about seeing it. I realise it's different to the original in that it's a "movie musical", but still, how can John Travolta be better than Divine?!

"Could you turn that racket down, I'm trying to iron in here"

2nd episode of Cape Wrath is on tomorrow night, great! Even though part of me still thinks something about it looks cheap it's very compelling and has a similar eerie feeling to Twin Peaks, yet a lot more shallow. The twists and secrets don't seem as unpredictable as TP but perhaps I will be surprised. It's not on the same level as Lynch genius but is definitely one of the better things on tv right now.

The less I use this journal the harder I find it is to write in it. Summing everything up without sounding like a list is beyond me! Work is everything at the moment but that isn't always a bad thing, money is *very* much needed. Rob and I have found a few flats in St Albans, and even though they are currently up for rent too early for us it's reassuring that there is some degree of choice.

One big fear still remains in the shape of a deposit for whatever flat we end up in. Borrowing money makes me feel so guilty. Also with my family...there's still alot they don't know. Hate being cryptic but that's how it's going to have to be until all this is out there, open and public.

*Exhales*

I'm to a be a bridesmaid next year. What a boring post!

Today I discovered that I've passed my second year, finally! Not so big a deal perhaps with most people I know either already graduated or waiting for results of third year right now. However it's important to me, especially as only two of my five projects were actually marked. It'd been on my mind for a long time.

This week has been stressful what with me not actually living at home right now. Long story but really it's been a silver lining. Instead of wallowing in all the bitching, religious weirdness and underhand comments that have been happening, I know now more than ever that what I want for the future is right, that it's a waste of time to hide in my comfort zone of worrying and paranoia.

P.S Rob want's you to all know that he is a sexy ass bitch.

P.P.S Rob has just said to me, "Why don't we go out today and buy a Wii?" Ok then, why not? :)

Not only did I finally get series two of Spaced today whilst in Harlow with [info]ribrob selling his old Xbox games BUT I got to see one of my favourite animals!

It's an apalca. ♥ Aw, Rob thinks they are fugly but in my opinion that's just part of their charm. That and the "Hhhmmmmmmmmmm" noise one of them was making.

So much talk of cats what with brother number one being home, brother number two's kitten and Tilly acting like our very own fur baby!

Back to work tomorrow. Hoping it all goes ok.

I remember hearing something about this a while back. It was only brought back into my memory the other day on BBC 2's review of Cannes on "The Culture Show". Anton Corbjin has made videos for some of my favourite bands, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anton_Corbijn.

I hope this is good. They only rock biopic I can think of right now is the one about Kurt Cobain. Michael Pitt (Hedwig and the Angry Inch!) played him and god, that was awful :\. Sid and Nancy doesn't even count...

What is it with stories? Be it in book form or tv I always need to know the ending. Thankyou online spoilers! Films are semi included in this list, I can get by (barely) without knowing what is going to happen. Definitely another night of Six Feet Under.

I need to clean the kitchen tomorrow, it's getting pretty bad. Subconsciously, perhaps I like it.

Old but oh well, I'm bored! I swear myheritage.com used to actually be quite good at finding lookalikes where as now all that comes up are photos of celebrities taken in the the exact same pose as the one you uploaded? Never mind that their nose is 50% smaller than you, same pose=lookalike.

I wish!

My brother texted me from America last night to tell me that he and his girlfriend have just gotten engaged! :) This makes me so happy. That's about all I have to say right now, apart from this; Why are razors designed for men better than the girly pink ones designed for women? Perhaps I am just imagining it and I'm being sucked in by their more sleek, manly and functional design.

p.s. Hi MEGAN, got your text :) yes we should hang out soon! I miss you x x

Nothing like coming home to an argument. Especially with a person you just *can't* argue with. It always comes back to money. I'm starting to wish i was one of those lucky spoilt students who don't have to work as they get everything given to them :(.

It's a shame to be on such a downer after last night being so calm and relaxing. For the most part anyway. Early morning hours spent talking about philosophy, cats, the universe and so on with my Two favourite people... )
University aggravations, and other workloads seem to be affecting everyone at the moment. Time to get off my fat ass and do some work!
The diet I started just over a week ago is going very well. Lost 6-7lbs, and now just under 11st. Hopefully I can get back to last spring's weight of just under 10st. Wish me
luck!
p.s. It's been a very long time since I've seen my natural hair colour. It's suprisingly light.

A while back I posted an easy tutorial found through livejournal on how to do easy homemade screenprints. I tried it for a tshirt project set a few weeks back.  One of the ideas on the brief was to promote an obscure myspace band. For a while now I'd been meaning to help Rob out with visuals/promotion so I chose to promote his music (www.robertbriden.com). Typical girlfriendy stuff maybe but mneh, like I care what others think :P. Speaking of said "helping out" maybe I shoudl stick to my word a bit more....oops.Here is the initial picture I drew..

Sketched it roughly onto a screen (photos to come), applied the glue and waited patienty for it to dry over night. The next evening the ink was pushed through and voila...

The lettering was done seperately, taken from one of the song's lyrics. I did a few small trials at first and found that alot of force had to be used to get an even print, however this might be due to the mesh/cheap old silk scarf I used. Quite pleased with it :D and love how hands on it is. Much better than scanning and getting eye strain from a monitor. x x

Every Easter I always get into something that distracts me from my work. This time there are three choices. Essay, X-files (haven't seen in yeeeeears but still so good) or White Teeth. Well, it's not so much as a choice now but a losing battle. What essay? ;)

A few weeks ago uni set an open brief in which we had to choose a location and document what we found there. I didn't enjoy it too much and cheated a little by drawing mainly from photographs. Thing is all my tutors seemed to prefer my crappy, sketchy 5 minute scribblings. It's getting a bit tiresome. Here is some of my work :)
